Ravenswood (10:51 – 16:00)

C&NW trains moved through the North Side at high speed. This can be seen around 11:00. According to former C&NW engineer Doug Davidson the maximum allowed speed on the Kenosha Subdivision in 1988 was seventy miles per hour. It was easy, he says, to make track speed due to the distance between Clybourn and Ravenswood stations. At 12:15 we see a spur leave the mainline and drop down to Schulhof Co, 4243 N Honroe. It was a plumbing and Heating concern. Whether or not they are still in business today is unclear. The spur had an interesting track arrangement which had to fit into a tight space with two different tail tracks. At 15:27 we see the spur to Temple Steel.
