Highwood (7:16 – 10:05)

At 9:58 in Highwood the tall office buildings to the left or east stand on the site of the former Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee (CNS&M) interurbans’s headquarters and shops. They were demolished a few years after the North Shore Line was abandoned in January of 1963. At about 10:04 we see a spur diverge from the mainline. It ran into the Fort Sheridan U.S. Army base. When the CNS&M was operating it also had a spur into Fort Sheridan, which connected with the C&NW’s spur.
